About the Film
In Arab America, the gas station is more than a pit stop on the way to work- it’s the economic heart and social point center of the community. Arab Americans view the gas station as a vehicle to upward mobility, changing the traditional gas station into a 24-hour epicenter of family employment that has sparked the domination of a predominantly Arab-owned gas station industry in the Metro Detroit area. "Detroit Unleaded" takes this familiar setting of a gas station and its customers to explore the lives of the people that populate it.
