Detroit Unleaded is the debut feature film from Lebanese-American Filmmaker, Rola Nashef and Gas Afterhours Productions.
The feature was born out of the success and inspiration of Detroit Unleaded the Short. Released in March 2007, the 20-minute short garnered international recognition, and received positive reviews from diverse audiences and film critics alike. The film was an official selection to 26 film festivals, and won three awards, including “Best Short Film”.
The feature script was selected for the Sundance Institute’s Screenwriters Lab in Jordan(2007) and as a finalist at the Tribeca Film Festival’s All Access Program(2009).
Detroit Unleaded is a slice-of-life story that embodies a great deal of the Arab American experience while simultaneously leaving room for humor, personal identities, and larger exploration of race, economics, friendship and love.
